As dusk draws near
The moon raises her head
Darkness creeps slowing
Awaking the dead
I glimpse a shadow
As it slips by a tree
Holding my breath
No wish to be seen
A shiver ripples slowly
All the way down my spine
Time will not wait
For death to come dine
I should not have strayed
Into the cold night
On this the eve
Death steals our light
